Available for Adoption

Adoption through GLBR is fairly simple. Here's what you need to know about the adoption process for your next loving Bengal!

You will be asked to fill out the "Adoption Application" about yourself, family and previous pet history. Your questionnaire will be reviewed to see if your home would be the best fit for the cat you have chosen.

If your questionnaire is denied, it does not mean that you can not adopt a Bengal from us - it could be because your home isn't the right fit for the particular cat you’ve chosen. For example, if the cat needs to be the ONLY cat in the home, we will not place it with someone who has a cat already.   You would be notified as to the reason why and given the opportunity to consider another cat.

We want to find permanent loving homes for each and every rescue.  Because of this our cats are placed in homes that we feel they would thrive in.

Phone Interview

If your questionnaire looks to be the best home for a cat, you may be asked to take part in a phone call interview. In the busiest rescue seasons, the phone call interview may be replaced with an email interview. We want to get to know our potential adopters and have a chance to answer any questions you may have.  This contact will be made by the Foster Home of the cat you have shown interest in.  We do not adopt cats out to doom-room situations, as a gift or to homes with dog breeds known to have high prey drive.

Adoption Contract

If we are both comfortable continuing the process, you will be asked to read, fill out and sign the adoption contract. The adopter is responsible for transportation or pick up of cat.
